Hospice Aide – Care Center – New Hanover County (Wilmington, NC)

.9 FTE

The Hospice Aide works under the supervision of the Professional Registered Nurse to provide a variety of basic patient care activities to meet personal needs and comfort to patients. Care is based on Hospice Aide’s level of registration and agency policies and procedures. The patient population can include newborns through geriatric patients. The Hospice Aide assists in clerical and stocking duties for the department or agency. Performs other duties as assigned. High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of Hospice Aide course. Must attend 12 hours of in-service training supervised by a Registered Nurse on a rolling 12 month basis. Has not had a lapse of 24 consecutive months where the aide has not provided services for compensation. Current certification with State Board of Nursing, or current registration with Department of Facilities Service in the State of North Carolina. Minimum of two years’ experience and at least one year in home care or by other individuals under general supervision of a Registered Nurse. Previous HA experience in a hospice, home health, or oncology preferred.

Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner – Brunswick County (Bolivia, NC)

1.0 FTE

The Nurse Practitioner provides direct patient care for patients with serious illness.  The patient population will reflect that specified by the nurse practitioner’s master’s degree. Is responsible for using expert skills in history taking, physical examination, initiation and interpretation of tests, analysis of data, and the implementation and evaluation of plans of care. Effectively manages the plan of care for each patient based on clinical knowledge, data, patient preference and benefits to the patient.  Management of each patient also includes appropriately and effectively delegating patient care duties to other members of the team in order to assure optimal patient outcomes. Works with Palliative Care and other healthcare team members in all settings. The Nurse Practitioner is also responsible for continuing his/her own personal development to enhance practice and the profession of Nursing.  Performs other duties as assigned. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, either through an AD, Diploma or BSN program. Graduate of a Master’s degree in nursing program with a major or post masters as a nurse practitioner. Certification in hospice/palliative care preferred (CHPN, ACHPN). Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of North Carolina/South Carolina. Approval for practice as a nurse practitioner by the North/South Carolina Board of Nursing and the North/South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners. Minimum of five years general medical experience in inpatient, outpatient and nursing home settings. Two years as a nurse practitioner preferred. Experience in an acute care setting desirable. Demonstrated competence in leadership and teaching. Demonstrated achievement and familiarity with administrative nursing techniques.

RN Float – New Hanover County (Wilmington, NC)

1.0 FTE

The Professional Registered Nurse provides direct patient care for patients in life limiting illnesses. The patient population can include newborns through geriatric patients. Is responsible for using the Nursing Process to effectively manage the Plan of Care for each patient based on appropriate nursing standards, policies and procedures. Management of each patient also includes appropriately and effectively delegating patient care duties to other members of the team in order to assure optimal patient outcomes. The Professional Registered Nurse is also responsible for continuing his/her own personal development to enhance practice and the profession of Nursing. Performs other duties as assigned. Graduate of an approved school of nursing, either through an AD, Diploma or BSN program. Current license to practice professional nursing in the State of North Carolina. Two years’ experience. Prefer Home Care or Hospice or related oncology experience.

Community Outreach Coordinator – Onslow County (Jacksonville, NC)

1.0 FTE

Works under the supervision of the Volunteer Program Manager with oversight by the Director of Counseling & Volunteer Services.  The primary functions of this position are to coordinate the day to day responsibilities within the Volunteer Department and coordinate community relations for LCFH&LCC in Onslow County, including Hospice in-services, speaking engagements, presentations, health fairs, and community events. Performs responsible duties of a general and confidential nature for volunteer programs, marketing and communications, special events, and general office operations.  Must have capability to interact with a wide range of diverse publics to include patients, their family members, community leaders, volunteers, donors and staff. Prefer bachelor’s degree, or three years related experience and/or training. Valid North Carolina Driver License required. Experience: Community Relations, Volunteer Management, and/or Human Services.

Development Manager – Brunswick County (Bolivia, NC)

1.0 FTE

The Development Manager is responsible for meeting or exceeding fundraising goals for the achievement of major revenue growth through special events and major gifts. Plan special fundraising events; coordinate and oversee logistics; manage budget and financial records; evaluate cost-effectiveness, profitability, and public awareness of events; compile and analyze event statistics; and create event plan for the following year. Recruit senior volunteer leaders and manage volunteer committees to assist in reaching organizational fundraising goals. This role requires creativity, strategic smarts, and strong organizational skills and has the opportunity to create unparalleled, authentic events.Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field and 3 years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Event coordination experience, Major gifts fundraising or sales experience required. CFRE a plus. Three years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Fundraising experience required. Demonstrated successful experience soliciting and closing sales; building and maintaining long-term relationships with constituents. Successful experience Customer Relations Management. Demonstrated knowledge of current trends in charitable giving, particularly in the areas of events planning, and securing sponsorship.
