On September 2, 2011 despite Irene crashing the original date…more than 400 guests gathered at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside to celebrate the end of summer and support Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter. Attendees decked out in their favorite white attire, danced to the funky sound of Soul Power Posse in the grand ballroom and were entertained poolside by local DJ Jason Jackson. A lucky guest won a BMW for a weekend generously provided by Scheaffer BMW. The live and silent auction featured amazing items and heated bidding…all for a good cause, of course. The committee, led by Sandy Spiers and Linwood Gainey, completely transformed the location into a “South Beach” inspired paradise and pulled off what just might has been the party of the summer! Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation would like to thank all of the sponsors, attendees, and committee members for raising more than $50,000 (net) to support the services and programs provided by Lower Cape Fear Hospice & LifeCareCenter.
